May 26

I am a bit weary of the news these days. It is difficult to hear the complaints about the inconvenience of physical distancing and wearing masks especially as the nicer weather has arrived. So rather than think about it for a day or so I thought I would share some miscellaneous information that is mostly useless but may be of interest to you.

1. I have a friend who will not watch a movie if there is the possibility that on the screen there will be an image of an animal being hurt or dying. Apparently there are a lot of people who feel that way and to witness such a scene leaves them emotionally upset for days. — I just learned that if you go to doesthedogdie.com you can be saved from such emotional turmoil because you will find what might be upsetting for you in a movie, TV show or book.

2. Did you know that at a stoplight, the length of time for the yellow light corresponds with the first digit of the speed limit. For example, if it is a 50 mph zone, the yellow light will last for 5 seconds; in a 35 mph zone, it will be 3.5 seconds, and so on. Kind of cool, isn’t it?

3. Watermelon can help relieve stress and anxiety, keep you energized, and boost your metabolism.

The Lord grant you a quiet night and peace at the last.
