Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. [Gal. 6:10]  As you have done it to the least of these you have done it to me.

It never ceases to amaze me how many good people there are. Too often we only hear about the negative stuff; I guess that’s what sells. Many of you silently care for others and seek ways to make life easier for others. I commend you for your generosity and concern for the children of God, as in “all people.”  You inspire me and make me want to do more as well.

John Wesley who was the founder of Methodism apparently was known for devoting his life to the service of others. I thought of many of you when I found his simple summary of service.

Do all the good you can
by all the means you can,
in all the ways you can,
in all the places you can’
at all the times you can,
to all the people you can
as long as ever you can.

Keep up the good work dear faithful servants.

Yours,

The Rev. Ellen Meissgeier
